New Delhi: The SIAM Motor Vehicle Data July 2026 shows that India’s automobile industry recorded its strongest-ever July sales, with robust double-digit growth across Passenger Vehicles, Three Wheelers and Two Wheelers.
According to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), domestic sales of Passenger Vehicles rose 34.3% year-on-year to 4,57,810 units in July 2026, while Three Wheeler sales increased 33.4% to 92,560 units and Two Wheeler sales grew 22.6% to 19,23,483 units.
The SIAM Motor Vehicle Data July 2026 also showed that total production of Passenger Vehicles, Three Wheelers, Two Wheelers and Quadricycles stood at 33,70,958 units during the month, compared with 27,02,121 units in July 2025, representing a 24.8% increase.
Domestic sales across these categories rose 24.3% to 24,11,246 units, while exports increased 25.1% to 6,77,122 units.
Commenting on the July 2026 performance, Rajesh Menon, Director General, SIAM, said, “India’s auto industry delivered its strongest-ever July sales, with robust double-digit growth across Passenger Vehicles, Three Wheelers and Two Wheelers.
Passenger Vehicle sales rose 34.3% to 4.58 lakh units, Three-Wheeler sales grew 33.4% to 0.93 lakh units, and Two-Wheeler sales increased 22.6% to 19.23 lakh units compared with July 2025.
This positive momentum, sustained over several months, has continued as the industry enters the festive season with expectations of strong consumer sentiment.”
Passenger Vehicle Sales Rise 34.3%
According to the SIAM Motor Vehicle Data July 2026, domestic Passenger Vehicle sales increased from 3,01,251 units in July 2025 to 3,95,199 units in July 2026, a growth of 31.2% in the SIAM comparative segment data.
The broader company-wise and category data reflects the same July 2026 domestic sales figure of 3,95,199 units when BMW, Mercedes, JLR, Tata Motors and Volvo Auto data availability is accounted for.
- Passenger Cars recorded production of 1,81,651 units in July 2026, compared with 1,43,844 units in the corresponding month last year, an increase of 26.3%.
- Domestic sales rose 37.6% to 1,32,408 units from 96,207 units, while exports stood at 34,869 units compared with 36,184 units in July 2025.
- Utility Vehicles remained another major contributor to Passenger Vehicle production and sales. Production increased 27.5% to 3,09,230 units in July 2026 from 2,42,520 units a year earlier.
- Domestic sales rose 29.2% to 2,48,895 units, while exports increased 14% to 34,613 units.
- Van production increased 7.6% to 14,639 units in July 2026 from 13,610 units in July 2025. Domestic sales grew 12.6% to 13,896 units, while exports declined 40.3% to 449 units.
The detailed SIAM Motor Vehicle Data July 2026 showed total Passenger Vehicle production at 5,05,520 units, up from 3,99,974 units in July 2025. Domestic sales stood at 3,95,199 units, compared with 3,01,251 units a year earlier, while exports increased to 69,931 units from 67,292 units.

Three-Wheeler Sales Increase 33.4%
Three Wheelers recorded another strong performance in the SIAM Motor Vehicle Data July 2026. Domestic sales increased to 92,560 units in July 2026 from 69,403 units in July 2025, marking a 33.4% rise.
Production increased from 1,12,241 units to 1,45,913 units, while exports rose from 39,787 units to 52,309 units.
Passenger Carrier sales increased 32.9% to 77,994 units from 58,693 units. Goods Carrier sales grew 40.3% to 12,896 units from 9,194 units. E-Rickshaw sales rose 7.5% to 1,132 units, while E-Cart sales increased 16.2% to 538 units.
The company-wise SIAM Motor Vehicle Data July 2026 shows total Three Wheeler production at 1,45,913 units, domestic sales at 92,560 units and exports at 52,309 units.
For the April-July period, production reached 5,02,915 units, domestic sales stood at 3,06,899 units and exports were 2,03,427 units.
Two-Wheeler Sales Rise 22.6%
Two Wheelers continued to account for the largest volume among the major vehicle categories covered by the SIAM Motor Vehicle Data July 2026.
Domestic sales increased 22.6% year-on-year to 19,23,483 units in July 2026 from 15,69,120 units in July 2025. Production increased 24.2% to 27,18,514 units, while exports rose 27.7% to 5,54,258 units.
Scooter sales increased 23.7% to 7,98,190 units in July 2026 from 6,45,022 units in July 2025. Motorcycle sales rose 20.7% to 10,74,796 units from 8,90,107 units, while moped sales jumped 48.6% to 50,497 units from 33,991 units.
The detailed SIAM Motor Vehicle Data July 2026 recorded scooter production at 9,91,539 units, motorcycle production at 16,72,008 units and moped production at 54,967 units. Total Two Wheeler production stood at 27,18,514 units during July 2026.
Quadricycle Sales
Quadricycle production increased from 340 units in July 2025 to 1,011 units in July 2026. Domestic sales stood at four units, compared with no reported domestic sales in July 2025, while exports increased from 330 units to 624 units.
April-July FY27 Performance
The SIAM Motor Vehicle Data July 2026 also includes cumulative figures for April-July 2026.
- Total production across Passenger Vehicles, Three Wheelers, Two Wheelers and Quadricycles reached 1,24,34,112 units during April-July 2026, compared with 1,01,08,832 units during the corresponding period of 2025-26.
- Domestic sales increased to 95,28,071 units from 77,94,863 units, while exports rose to 26,06,518 units from 19,79,316 units.
- For Passenger Vehicles, cumulative April-July production increased to 19,58,724 units from 16,44,400 units.
- Domestic sales rose to 16,69,010 units from 13,13,135 units, while exports increased to 2,92,323 units from 2,71,622 units.
- Three Wheeler production during April-July 2026 stood at 5,02,915 units, compared with 3,68,975 units in the corresponding period of 2025-26.
- Domestic sales increased to 3,06,899 units from 2,34,614 units, while exports rose to 2,03,427 units from 1,35,583 units.
- Two Wheeler production during the April-July period reached 99,68,348 units, compared with 80,94,178 units a year earlier.
- Domestic sales increased to 75,52,158 units from 62,47,110 units, while exports rose to 21,07,216 units from 15,70,815 units.

SIAM noted that BMW, Mercedes, JLR, Tata Motors and Volvo Auto data were not available for the comparative segment-wise report. In the Passenger Vehicle data, Tata Motors’ domestic sales are included only in the total Passenger Vehicle figure, with a detailed break-up not available.
